The Kenton Kaotics children's theatre group was set up in 2002 by Nicola
Howard. Nicola is a trained teacher and theatre practitioner who performs
herself, most often under the stage persona of Mitzi Maybe. The Kenton
Kaotics have been variously funded by the lottery Awards for All scheme, the
Unltd fund, and the Tarka Country Millennium Awards, and have presented a
variety of theatre, much of it originally devised by the group themselves.
The children take a lot of responsibility within the group and even sit on
the management committee. Through gaining public funding, the group aims
to offer workshops and performances for free to all participants.
